Overseas Business Representative Visa

Visas for Work, Business and Investment
Immigration Accreditation

We can assist you with all aspects of immigration law. This includes any problems concerning visiting, working, studying, settling or conducting business in the UK.

Why Choose Us for Immigration

SJS Solicitors is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme. This is awarded to firms who have an extremely thorough understanding of the UK's immigration and asylum laws. SJS Solicitors are proud to hold Level 2 membership, and our Principal Solicitor, Mrs. Sukul, holds supervisor status with over 17 years of experience fighting for her client's immigration rights. SJS Solicitors have been accredited since January 2006.

We are fully aware of the fact that the United Kingdom immigration laws are ever changing and can be very complex. It is therefore essential that you consult us for specalist legal advice before making any application that concerns any aspect of immigration law and the UK.

We can help you to apply for an overseas business representative visa, which, if successful would allow you to come to the UK for an initial period of 3 years. You would then be able to extend this for a further 2 years, and after you have been in the UK for 5 years, you can apply for permission to settle.

There are certain criteria which you must fulfil to be successful in an overseas business representative visa application. SJS Solicitors have been accredited by the Law Society at both a Level 2 and a Supervisor Level for Immigration and Asylum cases and as such are very well placed to give your application the highest chance for success.

As a guideline, generally to be successful in an overseas business representative visa application you must:

  • be from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland
  • the sole representative of an overseas company, planning to set up a UK branch or a wholly owned subsidiary for the overseas, parent company
  • be an employee for an overseas newspaper, news agency or broadcasting organisation, posted on a long-term assignment to the UK
  • have a certificate of sponsorship from a licensed sponsor before you can apply to come and work in the UK

There are other requirements, and SJS Solicitors will ensure that your application satisfies these before we submit your application to the Home Office.
