Everyone should have a Will, for where there’s a will, there’s protection of your assets, and reassurance that the right family and friends will inherit your valuables when you are gone.

At SJS Solicitors we can assist you with taking instructions and drafting of your Will. As with all our cases, we inform you at inception the procedure and time scale involved with the writing of your Will as well as a full total fees and cost breakdown.

Possibly the most important document of which we are accredited by the Law Society and other bodies to write for you is your Will. During your lifetime, you have worked hard and strived to acquire your assets and possessions, you may have savings, shares, investments, personal possessions and inheritance. All of these are assets and make up your estate and it is important that these assets are passed onto the correct people after you pass away. A will becomes even more important when you have children, so you are sure they are properly looked after after you have gone.

A well written will is the only document that will dictate what shall happen to your assets after you depart. Your will can be challenged after you have passed away, so it is essential that you have a firm who are experts in will writing to draft your will. Your will speaks for you legally and completely after you pass. It expresses all your wishes and it states what you wish to happen with your estate and assets. Without one, you don’t decide who inherits your estate, the Law does.

Our Principal Solicitor, Mrs. Savita Sukul is a specialist in the law of Wills and Probate. She has drafted hundreds of wills since 1999, none of which have been successfully challenged. At your consultancy meeting with us, you will be able to explain your personal situation and wishes and she would guide and advise you accordingly. She would then personally draft your Will and invite you to read it so as to make sure that it absolutely expresses your intentions and your wishes. We don’t rush you through this process, we let you take your time to make these incredibly important decisions, and only when you are happy with your Will, it will be finalised and prepare it as a formal, bound document for you to sign in the presence of two witnesses.
